WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES -
PAST VENUES

Obviously the cities able to bid for the Winter Olympics is not as extensive a list as those eligible for the Summer Games. Cities have to be located in an area where adequate snow conditions can be guaranteed for all types of skiing (downhill, slalom, cross-country, ski-jumping, snowboarding) and toboganning as well as being able to offer the usual array of facilities necessary to the successful hosting of the Winter Olympic.
